The Victory

The Victory” was born out of my own journey—one filled with seasons of pressure, setbacks, and moments where life felt heavier than I could carry. Yet through every challenge, God never failed me. His presence stayed close, His promises held firm, and His strength filled the places where mine ran out. I wrote this song to celebrate that faithfulness and to remind myself—and anyone who sings it—that no matter what we face, God’s victory is not theoretical. It’s real, personal, and active in our lives.

The verses reflect the way His light has broken through my darkest moments and awakened hope in me again and again. And in the pre-chorus, the line “let the walls fall down” is intentionally a shout-out to Joshua and the Israelites—how God showed up, tore down the walls of Jericho, and brought His people into the promise He had already prepared for them. That same God has torn down barriers in my own life, and this lyric is my way of declaring that His power hasn’t changed. What He did for them, He still does for us.

The chorus calls out the names of God that have carried me through the hardest seasons—Elohim, Jehovah Rapha, Jehovah Nissi, Prince of Peace, Mighty Father. Each name represents a moment where He came through, healed what was broken, calmed what was chaotic, or fought battles I couldn’t fight.

The bridge is intentionally joyful, echoing the old children’s church song “I’ve Got the Joy, Joy, Joy, Joy Down in My Heart.” That reference is purposeful—it’s a reminder that the same simple, undeniable joy we sang about as kids is still real and still alive in us today. I wanted the bridge to tap into that innocence and freedom, showing that the deepest kind of joy isn’t complicated—it’s the natural overflow of knowing that we are loved, held, and victorious in Him.
